Kayakers Eye Rhine Source to Sea

rhine
A team plans to sea kayak the Rhine River from its source in the Swiss Alps to its outlet at the North Sea in the Netherlands, starting July 2010.

The expedition members are three ex-Royal Marines: Robert Tweddle (38), Phil Carrington (37) and Sean Johnson (42). Their collective adventure resume includes paddling the length of the Mississippi River, cycling across Canada, hiking the Appalachian Trail in winter and kayaking the Yukon River 2,300 miles to the Bering Sea.

The three were undoubtedly inspired by the annotated map we just published in the latest issue of Adventure Kayak magazine, which you can see for yourself by clicking here.
