CauseToPaddle.org, is an expedition based fundraising campaign highlighting the connection between first world environmental stewardship and the humanitarian effort to ensure clean water and basic medical care for patients in need of more resources.
Conor Flannery is the founder of Cause To Paddle.
As an avid outdoor enthusiast and experienced medical device engineer, he has combined his two passions into an epic solo kayak journey of 2,500 miles from Seattle, WA to Anchorage, AK on behalf of MedShare.
The goal of the 5 month expedition is to raise funding for at least 1000 boxes of medical supplies from MedShare, while emphasizing the human impact possible through environmentally responsible solutions.
To underscore the two-fold benefit of implementing these kinds of creative solutions to environmental problems, Cause to Paddle is a chronicled expedition utilizing leave-no-trace camping and human-powered kayaking and 100% of financial donations will go to support MedShare organization relief efforts.
Conor started his fundraising expedition in Seattle, Washington on March 14th 2010.

Here is part of a recent post from Conor's blog.
So many things have happened, experiences had, friendships made, and stories shared during this Leg.
Also, we are at $17,766.01 which means we are as close to the $20k goal as I am to finishing the trip!
Thank you to donors and those who have forwarded the news of this expedition.
