On Friday May 28th the Apple iPad finally made it's way north of the border and Rapid Media staff stood ready to tackle the courior as they anxouisly awaited the arival of their very own iPad.

Originally the iPad was set to be released in Canada back in April of 2010 but due to demand was unavailable to the Canadian market until last Friday. Some Canadian markets were said to have people lined up and camping out waiting to be the first to own the Canadian iPad.

Reports indicate that the U.S. launch of the iPad saw sales on the first day upwards of 300,000 and continued up to an estimated 1 million units sold with in the first month.

What exactly is the iPad you ask?  Here's a little visual presentation that will hopefully explain a little.

As you can see in the video there are quite a few uses for the iPad and apparently 200,000 apps and growing.  A number of the outdoor apps available on the iPhone are now available in iPad versions.
