While Rapid magazine and whitewater enthusiasts were taking on the mighty Gatineau River in Quebec this past weekend sea kayakers were at the Great Canadian Kayak Challenge and Festival in Timmins, Ontario.

Thankfully despite the cool, rainy weather in the week leading up to the event the weather Gods cooperated fully by providing sunshine and above average temperatures throughout the two-day event.

The festival organizers extend a heartfelt thanks to the event sponsors, donors, volunteers, participants and spectators for their generous support of this event and a "special" thank you to the media for assisting with the task of building awareness of the Great Canadian Kayak Challenge & Festival.

Festival organizers are looking forward to an even bigger and better 3rd Annual Great Canadian Kayak Challenge & Festival and to the return of this year’s participants as well as some new faces next year.
