Greenland Week Competition Results

Kayak Academy thanks everyone that volunteered and attended this year's Greenland Week celebration. Here are the results of the competition.

In a series of Greenland style events 1st, 2nd and 3rd places received ribbons and prizes, plus first place winners got to take home a silver norsaq pendant (Greenland throwing stick or atlatl).

This year's competition was a three day event, the most complete kayak competition of it's type ever held outside of Greenland, Friday - Sunday Nov 5-7, 2010.

It all started with a week of lessons on carving your own Greenland paddle, Greenland style rolling technique, rope gymnastics, paddling technique, harpoon throwing, G-style Tidal Rapids Training at Deception Pass and rock gardening on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
