SealLine Black Canyon products were the first to be featured with the new material and were introduced in an effort to reduce the demand for PVC-based vinyl products, while also keeping the toxic by-products that come from the manufacture of vinyl out of the environment.
The following three products were used to launch the new material.
The SealLine Black Canyon Dry Bag was based on the simple, classic, all-purpose design of the SealLine Baja Dry Bag, but is lighter, more durable and more abrasion resistant, keeping contents dry, clean and protected in even the most challenging environments.
The all-purpose SealLine Black Canyon Gear Bucket is ideal for lugging gear on day excursions in the outdoors whether boating, surfing or road-tripping, and is easy to clean with a hose.
The SealLine Black Canyon Boundary Pack is an ultra-rugged portage pack with breathable and waterproof shoulder straps plus a sternum strap and waist belt for a comfortable fit.
As with all SealLine products, the Black Canyon products are made with durable RF-welded seams.
Erik Flink, SealLine Brand Manager reports
"Our first priority in product design and choice of materials is that it performs to the level we expect for a lifetime of usage.
The challenge of using a vinyl alternative has always been finding one that has equal durability at a similar price.
We finally found that in this new fabric, which also offered great performance benefits like abrasion-resistance, lighter weight, strength and durability even in cold temperatures."
Since the successful release of the new material SealLine has made the bold move to roll it out in all of it's other product lines including the the Kodiak Taper Dry bags for which are extremely popular among sea kayak expeditions.
Other PVC-free products under the SealLine brand include the Urban Line of bags & accessories, Storm Sack, Kodiak Window Dry Bag, Electronic Case, HP Map Case, Kodiak Deck Bag and Seal Pak pack.
