Point 65 Unveils Monster Surf Ski Prototype

Point 65 Kayaks of Sweden is working on a new design for the "mother of all surf skis," according to company president Richard Ohman.

At the beginning of March, designer Magnus de Brito took the prototype for a spin in snowy spring conditions and revealed what looks to be the stealth bomber of surf skis, or perhaps the black submarine of surf skis. Dive! Dive!

Ohman calls the 21-foot surf ski a "dream project" and says the intent of the new machine is to match other skis in speed while offering more stability which would give surf ski newbies or converted flatwater racers a distinct advantage. Testing the design will be top Swedish surf ski paddler Paul Rosenqvist.
Magnus, our design maverick, has been working very hard on this dream project. While working with Porsche on the Boxter 987, the Carrera 997, the Carrera GT and other similar projects, the 21 foot surf ski has never been far from his mind. A 21 foot Mother of all Surf Ski's. Magnus is never humble about his designs and he is pretty confident that this surfing machine will not only out surf and out glide the rest of the pack, but also keep the paddler in the saddle, no matter how rough and fast it gets.
