Whale of a Task

A dentist in Sitka, Alaska, Dr. Richard Kraft gives back to nature by performing routine oral examinations for the local whale community while out sea kayaking.

I’m kidding just incase you didn’t get that but I’ve been told this photo is totally legit.

Apparently the photo was taken at the entrance to Katlian Bay in Sitka, Alaska.  The whale is coming up to scoop up a mouthful of herring as whales do.

The kayaker Dr. Richard Kraft is a Dentist local to coastal town Sitka, Alaska.

Here’s what he had to say.

Yep, that is me in the picture with a whale that was just around the corner from the ferry terminal.

"Paddle really fast" is the only thing I could think of at the time.
Also thinking that I don't look like a herring, don't smell like a herring but with the same herring instinct of "get the hell out of the way of that big mouth!!"

Here’s another one that got some attention while swimming about the internet.

So what do you think?  Real or really good spoof?
