Paddlefest is a celebration of paddling that aims to expose Calgarians to the thrill of watersports.

Event Description

Paddlefest is just that, a festival of everything paddling, with an urban twist. You can take a whitewater kayaking clinic, brush up on boater safety, and try your bum in ten different canoes – not bad for one day at waters edge.

There's lots of fun and learning to be had on the water and off the water. If you are scared of the water, but think paddling looks fun, try some of our land clinics which may include topics like GPS navigation and bear safety. Or jump right in and sign up for some of our on-water clinics (beginner through advanced) in sea kayaking, whitewater kayaking and canoeing. Practice your skills and strokes in a safe and exciting environment with certified paddling instructors and folks with lots of knowledge. If you're thinking of purchasing your own boat, you can test over 150 of them to find just the right one.

We paddlers love what we do, and love sharing it more. So come join us for a positively perfect paddling party!

Location

Carburn Park is located in southeast Calgary, on the east bank of the Bow River, at 8925 Riverview Drive, SE.

Registration

Registration for all clinics is available starting May 19th. You can register for these through the MEC Service Centre at 1.800.663.2667.

Land presentations are free but there is a small fee for the on water clinics. Just 10 dollars for participants over 18. Families (4) can participate in water clinics for 20 dollars and for each additional family member add 5 dollars. If a single child wishes to participate it's only 5 dollars.
