Save Yourself

It's almost inevitable that if you participate in water activities at some point you are going to find yourself in an un-planned OBE (out of boat experience).

While it is important to know how to rescue your paddling friends and for them to rescue you it is equally important to know how to self rescue.

You may not always be paddling with friends or your paddling partners may not be in a safe position to rescue you.

What ever the situation may be self rescue is a crucial skill to learn.

Kayak School

This is a great video series I came across on the how to's of sea kayaking.  An excellent place for a beginner to start and for the seasoned pro for little gems of info.  Remember books and video are a great way to supplement your learning but nothing compares to the skills aquired from professional instruction and personal experience.

Beat Down

Admittedly I am a whitewater river rat through and through.  As a white water paddler I always assumed sea kayaking was tame, relaxed, layed back version of paddle sports.  Then I saw this.
