Kayaking at the 55+ Games

The 2010 Games are being held in Brockville Ontario from August 23rd to August 28th and will include "Open" Canadian medal Championships for anyone 55+.  The race will be a 200 meter flatwater sprint in canoe (C1, C2) and kayak (K1,K2).

 

 

 

The first national games were held in Regina in 1996 and for the first time paddling will be included in the list of events for 2010.  The complete list of events available on the games website include a wide range of physical and mental challenges.

The Canada Seniors Games Association (CSGA) is the overseeing body for the Canada 55+ Games.  The Games are open to adults 55 and above as of December 31 of the year in which the Games are held.

The paddling events will be held at the Gananoque Canoe Club August 26

There will be a Mens and Ladies 55+ and 65+ age divisions with medals being awarded to the top three male and female competitors in each division.

The competition will be a 200m flatwater sprint and watercraft must conform to the specifications in the Canadian Canoe Association Competition rule book.
