With an ever increasing number of people venturing further and further into the backcountry the number of rescues is also increasing.  This sparks the debate around the central question - who should pay for these rescues?

Don't really know what else to say about this one except it's Friday and I thought some folks might like to see a video of Mice surfing.  Yup.

Why is it that Surfing always seems to start a trend and then Kayaking (maybe) catches up?  It seems these little guys have been ripping on ocean waves and river surf for the last few years.  I'm not sure if they will ever make the switch to kayaking (I think holding a paddle might be a bit much for them) but I'm keeping an eye on them and the Mice Action Sports Industry so I'll keep you updated.

Looking good and being colour coordinated is all fine and well but if no one sees you does it really even matter?  I'm not talking about being spotted carrying your boat down to the water either, I'm talking about when you are out on the water past your return time, getting near dark and people are out looking for you.  That type of 'seen'.  Find out what colours give you the best chance of being seen.

Let's face it when the weather turns too cold to paddle or we just get too busy with life,  many of us are forced to get our paddling fix through pictures, stories, and daydreams.  Well it's that time of year I'm afraid (at least in most of North America) so here is some fuel to fire up those daydreams and provide you with some bucket list material and ideas of where your next paddling trip might take you.
